Dave Phua
Managing Director
Dave Phua is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Training Edge International. He has more than two decades of marketing and business development experience gained in the management education and human resource development sectors.
Dave plays a key role in building key client relationships with regional and international partners which has helped position Training Edge International as one of the leading learning and development organizations in the Asia Pacific region.
Dave has developed a distinguished network of facilitators, trainers and speakers in Australia, China, Malaysia, India, Saudi Arabia and the United States. Strategically positioning his services through the media channels, his company’s articles have been extensively published in magazines and local newspapers including the Entrepreneur Digest, Human Capital, Human Resources, New Straits Times, Straits Times Career Guide, Straits Times Recruit and The Star.
Dave is also heading the Training Division of the International Professional Managers Association (IPMA, UK) in Singapore. He is responsible for spearheading strategic endorsement partnerships with seminar and conference organizers to endorse relevant programmes that provide Continuing and Education Training (CET) points for its members. Some of his key endorsement initiatives include the partnership with Asia Business Forum, HRnet Performance Consulting, IQPC, Marcus Evans and Success Resources. As a recognition for his contribution towards IPMA’s activities and professional objectives in Singapore, Dave was conferred Fellow of the International Professional Managers Association, UK in 2005.
During his appointment as Head of Marketing and Business Development for various educational agencies in the 1990s, Dave worked closely with his senior management team to develop strategic partnerships with Australia and US universities. He was also deeply involved in the marketing of the prestigious University of Michigan Executive Seminars and the Business Week C-Suite Forums.
Dave holds a Masters degree from Nanyang Technological University and a BSc (Hons) from the University of Bradford, UK. He was also an Advisory Board Member (Youth Delinquent Division) of the Ministry of Community, Youth and Sports.
